November 26 in the port of Aktau was assigned new tankers "Taraz" and "Liwa"
The purchase of tankers was carried out within the framework of execution of the order of the Head of State Kasym-Jomart Tokayev on diversification of export routes of Kazakh hydrocarbons.
The tankers were built and purchased through cooperation between JSC NC KazMunayGas and AD Ports Group. The owner of the new tankers with deadweight of 8,000 tons is a joint venture "Caspian Integrated Maritime Solutions Ltd", whose shareholders are NMSC "Kazmortransflot" LLP (a subsidiary of KMG) and International Maritime Investments Ltd (a subsidiary of AD Ports Group).
It should be noted that one of the tankers is named in honor of the ancient city of Taraz in Kazakhstan, the second one is named after an oasis in the UAE - Liwa.
The event was attended by Head of Mangistau region Nurlan Nogaev, Chairman of KMG Board Magzum Mirzagaliyev, UAE Ambassador to Kazakhstan Mohammed Saeed Al-Ariki, Chairman of the Board of AD Ports Group Mohammed Juma Al-Shamisi, General Director of Kazmortransflot LLP Aidar Orzhanov, General Director of Caspian Integrated Maritime Solutions Ltd Sherkhan Sugurbekov and other honored guests.
Oil tankers "Taraz" and "Liwa" with deadweight of 8000 tons are built at the shipyard of Dutch concern "Damen". The tankers are 140 meters long, 16.7 meters wide, 4.2 meters draft and 10 knots speed. They are equipped with advanced control systems, have high technical characteristics and modern equipment, which ensures their superior performance.
