Implemented Investment Projects
1. Between 2003 and 2005, berths №4 and №5 of the Port of Aktau were reconstructed, increasing the port's throughput capacity to 10-11 million tonnes of oil per year and enabling the handling of tankers with a deadweight of up to 13,000 tonnes.
2. As part of the fleet development for supporting marine operations, eight barges were constructed and five mainline tugs were acquired from 2003 to 2008, facilitating the efficient transportation of cargo, including rock for the Kashagan oil field.
3. In 2005-2006, the oil tankers "Astana," "Almaty," and "TK Aktau" were built and put into operation, marking the beginning of Kazakh oil transportation on Kazakh vessels.
4. In 2009-2010, the company launched the tankers "Atyrau," "Aktobe," and "Oral" enhancing oil transportation capabilities and strengthening its position in the maritime transportation market.
5. In 2010, a small ship repair plant was opened in Bautino village, allowing for current and inter-voyage repairs of vessels weighing up to 600 tonnes and up to 60 meters in length.
6. In 2011, KMTF introduced "Aframax" tankers with a deadweight of 115,000 tonnes, enabling the transportation of Kazakh oil in open seas for the first time.
7. From 2016 to 2018, three self-propelled barges, "Barys," "Berkut," and "Sunkar," were constructed for the Future Growth Project of LLP Tengizchevroil, used for transporting large-scale modules.
8. In 2017-2018, the tugs "Irgyz," "Talas," and "Emba" were built and, since 2019, have been involved in cargo transportation for the expansion of LLP Tengizchevroil.
9. From 2020 to 2023, KMTF implemented modernization projects for three specialized MCV vessels — “Barys”, “Sunkar”, and “Berkut” — converting them into container carriers.
10. In 2023, a project was implemented jointly with AD Ports Group to acquire two tankers, “Taraz” and “Liva,” each with a deadweight of 8,000 tons, through the joint venture Caspian Integrated Maritime Solutions Ltd to develop alternative oil export routes across the Caspian Sea.
