The delegation of NMSC "Kazmortransflot" headed by the General Director A.Orzhanov took part in a meeting chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Transport Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.Nurkenov on maritime transport safety.

The meeting was held within the framework of the Second International Conference "Caspian Ports and Shipping - 2021". During the meeting, reports were heard from the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, NMSC "Kazmortransflot", representatives of the ports of Kuryk and Aktau, the Maritime Administration of ports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Association of Shipowners and Entrepreneurs of Maritime Transport, the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

The issues discussed included ensuring the safety of navigation, ensuring the safety of marine vessels and port facilities, hydrographic support for the Kazakhstan sector of the Caspian Sea, updating marine navigation charts, and creating specialized systems for the prompt transmission of notices to mariners to ships.

Also, participants of meeting discussed questions on improvement of normative and legal acts of RK, concerning state border crossing, registration of sea and small size vessels, diploma of crew members of sea vessels, industrial safety, at operation of hoisting mechanisms on vessels.

KMTF General Director A.Orzhanov noted in his report the problematic issues concerning the confirmation of the professional diploma of the crew members, rules of industrial safety in the operation of hoisting machinery, registration of ships in the international ship register, reduction of time for consideration of the application for multiple crossing of the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan by domestic and foreign vessels, the introduction of an icebreaker on duty in the port of Bautino, hydrographic support and made specific suggestions.
