Kazmortransflot resumed oil shipmentsin the Aktau-Baku line
On April 7, 2023, eight years later, the tanker "Aktau" departed from the port of Aktau for its maiden voyage with Tengiz oil on board towards the port of Baku.
In July 2022 the President issued a directive to develop alternative routes for the transportation of oil. In accordance with these instructions JSC NC KazMunayGas concluded a General Agreement on the transit of oil through the Caspian Sea and the pipeline "Baku - Tbilisi - Ceyhan" with the Azerbaijani State Oil Company SOCAR with an annual volume of oil in transit of 1.5 million tons and a further increase to 5 million tons. It is planned to send oil from the Tengiz and Kashagan fields. Under this agreement, at least 50% of the transit oil should be transported by tankers of NMSC Kazmortransflot LLP.
In addition, NMSC Kazmortransflot LLP, within the expansion of the Trans-Caspian route, plans to put into operation two new tankers of 8,000 tons deadweight in 2023.
