On April 16, 2019, a solemn event was held at the seaport of Aktau to open the feeder traffic on the Trans-Caspian international transport route and the first Kazakhstani feeder vessel Turkestan was loaded with containers to the port of Baku. The marine operator of this project is NMSK Kazmortransflot.

The launching ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Board of JSC «National Welfare Fund «Samruk-Kazyna» Akhmetzhan Yesimov, akim of Mangistau oblast Yeraly Tugzhanov, Chairman of the Board of JSC «NC «Kazakhstan Temir Zholy» Sauat Mynbayev, Chairman of the Board of JSC «NC «KazMunayGas» Alik Aidarbayev, managers of transport and logistics companies and shippers using the service on the Trans-Caspian route.

Feeder ships will ply on a weekly basis.

The Trans-Caspian Route (TMTM) is a key link of the Eurasian transport arteries in the region and complements the system of transit corridors in Kazakhstan. This is a direct exit from China and Kazakhstan to the countries of the Caucasus, Turkey.
Regular feeder traffic contributes to the increase in freight traffic along the Trans-Caspian international transport route and the further development of cargo containerization in the

Caspian region.

Accordin to the Chairman of the Board of NK KazMunayGaz Alik Aidarbayev, this route opens in accordance with the «Nurly Zhol» program, the key task of which is to build an effective infrastructure for the development of the transport and logistics potential of Kazakhstan and to ensure the economic growth of the country. «KazMunayGas» group of companies is actively involved in this process through the improvement of international multimodal shipping NMSC «Kazmortransflot» is the operator of the feeder message, has a state license of the first class, has a modern merchant fleet and has the necessary competencies with experienced and qualified personnel.

For the feeder route, a new fleet, acquired in accordance with the «Nurly Zhol» program, will be used. The performance of these shipments will be carried out in strict accordance with international and national requirements for the safety of navigation.
