Оn April 16, regular feeder line along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route «Aktau-Baku-Aktau» reached it first anniversary. The route launched as part of the state program «Nurly Zhol».

The National Maritime Shipping Company Kazmortransflot is the marine operator of this feeder service. Feeder service is a transportation by relatively small vessels. This type of transport services significantly accelerates the delivery of goods to the consumer, which increases the demand for them.

Exactly a year ago, on April 16, 2019 on its first voyage from the port of Aktau came the Kazakh vessel «Turkestan». The first loading of containers took place in a solemn atmosphere with the participation of the Head of the region and the first heads of the following enterprises: JSC «FNB» Samruk-Kazyna, JSC NC «KazMunayGas», JSC NC «KazakhstanTemirZholy», seaports and other companies. At the opening ceremony of the feeder service, the General Agreement was signed between the companies of JSC NC «KazMunayGas» and JSC NC «KazakhstanTemirZholy».

Such synergy allowed the economy of Kazakhstan to receive additional revenues due to the increase in the volume of dry cargo transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.

To date, more than 12,000 containers in TEU (twenty – foot equivalent unit) have already been transported since the opening of the feeder line. In 2020, container shipments on the route are expected to grow. In this regard, Kazmortransflot plans to increase the frequency of voyages to seven per month.

After a year of successful operation of the feeder route, it is possible to say surely that its main goal, the contribution to the development of transport and logistics potential of Kazakhstan - was achieved.

The NMSC «Kazmortransflot» intends to continue to actively participate in the development of international transport, which will ensure further economic growth of the country.
