On April 8-9, 2021 the Chief of Exploration and Productin of JSC «KazMunayGas» NC (hereinafter - KMG) Zhakyp Marabayev, the Chief Oil Transportation, International Projects and Saryarka Pipeline Construction Officer - Daniyar Berlibayev and the Director of Transportation and Logistics Department Marat Ormanov made a working visit to the Mangistau region. Also members of delegations included the General Directors of “KMG Kashagan B.V.” and “KMG Systems & Services” LLP.


During the visit to the Bautino port, the delegation visited the multifunctional vessels of NMSC “Kazmortransflot” LLP (hereinafter – KMTF) “Berkut”, “Sunkar”, as well as tugs “Talas”, “Emba” and “Irgiz”. A meeting was held with the crew members of the vessels. On the territory of the observation area of “TenizService” LLP, The General director of KMTF Aidar Orzhanov made a presentation on the activities and results of the National Maritime Carrier and prospects of the development of the company.

Since 2011, KMTF has been the National Maritime Carrier of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It provides crude oil and other cargo transportation services on the Caspian Sea, Russian inland waterways, the Black Sea and other seas, support vessels and OSR vessels services for offshore projects, project cargo transportation, technical vessel management and supervision of ship construction.


Over the years, KMTF has created a powerful material base.

Today, the company has an impressive fleet of 23 vessels of various types and purposes with a total tonnage of 340 thousand tons, including 5 tankers, three of which are in the Caspian and two in the Black Sea, as well as 2 specialized multifunctional vessels, 1 container shipping vessel, 4 dry cargo shipping vessels. Fleet for support of marine operations of 8 barges and 3 tugboats.

The KMTF safety management system recognized as complying with the requirements of the international management code for the safe operation of ships. In 2020, KMTF passed the Chevron (JOVA) certification with the highest score.

The annual volume of oil transportation reaches up to 11 million tons of oil. Transportation is carried out by 2 Aframax tankers and 3 Caspimax tankers. There is a Framework Agreement on supplies and transportation between KMG, KMGI and KMTF.

Over the years, the company has gained invaluable experience in working with partners, with maritime merchant ships, in major projects such as «Rock Transportation to Kashagan», «Tengizchevroil Future Growth Project», feeder line on the Aktau-Baku-Aktau route within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route etc.

Successfully transported cargo for Bertling from KCOI base to Prorva port for future expansion project. 25 units of oversized cargo were transported from the port of Constanta to the Atyrau river port for construction of the KPI petrochemical complex in Atyrau region. The towing of a juck-up floating drilling rig “Satti”, delivery of equipment for the Atyrau Oil Refinery successfully completed.

KMTF has a 1st class State license for the provision in service oil spill response (hereinafter - OSR) at the stages of exploratory drilling and offshore production phases. Command-staff exercises on OSR are regularly conduct with the participation of the Emergencies Ministry and other specialized state organizations. The General Director of KMTF also voiced problematic issues and ways to solve them.
