"Talas" and "Emba" set out to the Persian Gulf
Two tugboats LLP "NMSC "Kazmortransflot" - "Talas" and "Emba" are ready to commence operations in the Persian Gulf.
Within the framework of expanding cooperation between JSC NC KazMunayGas and Abu Dhabi Ports Group (UAE), subsidiaries of the two companies - Kazmortransflot and OFCO Offshore International have signed a three-year contract for the lease of Kazakhstan tugs.
These vessels with local crews made a long 52-day crossing from the Caspian Sea through Russian waterways, Turkish straits, the Suez Canal and the Gulf of Aden, covering more than 5,000 nautical miles (about 9,500 kilometers), and arrived in the Persian Gulf. The tugs will be deployed on offshore projects in the Abu Dhabi region (Al Gallan and Das Islands) in the Emirates. In addition, the third tugboat, Irgiz, is scheduled to be sent to the Persian Gulf in the near future.
In general, the transfer of tugboats on lease provides the national shipping company Kazmortransflot with an opportunity to enter the Persian Gulf maritime service market, increase profitability and obtain new experience.
