KMG and AD Ports Group strengthen bilateral cooperation

On May 1, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC KazMunayGas Askhat Khasenov met with CEO of AD Ports Group Mohammed Al Shamisi in Abu Dhabi (UAE).

Taking into account the growing volume of container traffic along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, the parties negotiated the construction of container ships for the Caspian Sea.

AD Ports Group has made an investment decision to build two modern container ships. It is worth noting that the ship's design was developed jointly with KMG and AD Ports Group, and its container capacity will be a record for the Caspian Sea – up to 780 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent).

In addition, the parties discussed the results of already implemented projects and prospects for further cooperation. A.Khasenov expressed gratitude to the management of AD Ports Group for their efforts and support, which indicate a high level of mutual interest in strengthening partnership between Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates.

It should be recalled that cooperation between KMG and AD Ports Group covers such areas as the development of tanker and merchant fleets for the Caspian Sea and open seas, and the creation of a fleet to support offshore projects.
