The General Director of NMSK Kazmortransflot LLP Aydar Orzhanov met with the Deputy General Director for Civil Shipbuilding and Market Development of United Shipbuilding Corporation JSC David Adamiya in St. Petersburg (Russian Federation) on September 21 this year.

The event was also attended by the Director of Transportation and Logistics of JSC NC KazMunayGas Marat Ormanov. In the course of the meeting which took place within the framework of the international exhibition "Neva 2021" features of designing of ships for operation in shallow Caspian Sea conditions were discussed. Besides the parties considered a possibility for USC to develop preliminary designs for KMTF as well as issues of attracting leasing mechanisms for financing shipbuilding.

The following have been chosen as priority projects for joint work: a shallow seating multifunctional ice breaker for work in shallow and coastal water conditions as well as recreational passenger ships for operation in the coastal zone of Aktau.

The parties noted the importance of continuation of joint work and further interest in future fruitful cooperation between the KMTF and USC. Following the results of the meeting an Agreement on cooperation in the field of shipbuilding and ship repair was signed.

Recall that on July 26, 2021 there was a meeting between the Chairman of the Board of JSC NC "KazMunayGas" A.S. Aidarbayev and the Governor of Astrakhan region I.Y. Babushkin, during which they discussed issues of cross-border cooperation, including in the shipbuilding, transport and logistics and oil and gas industries.
