Educational Program for Future Seafarers of Kazakhstan

LLP “National Maritime Shipping Company Kazmortransflot” (a subsidiary of KazMunayGas), in cooperation with the Kazakhstan Maritime Academy at KBTU, has selected 10 future seafarers of the first intake to participate in a four-year educational program.

The program is aimed at training specialists for the Kazakhstan merchant fleet in the fields of Navigation and Marine Engineering. The grant fully covers tuition fees, a monthly stipend, accommodation in a student dormitory, and guarantees employment on vessels operated by Kazmortransflot upon graduation.

On August 18, participants of the first intake of the educational program arrived in Almaty to move into the student dormitory. They are beginning their studies focused on developing professional competencies in the maritime industry.

Applications for the program were accepted from November 2024 through May 2025. High school graduates underwent testing, interviews, and submitted motivation letters. The program is conducted in English, therefore proficiency in English is a mandatory requirement.
