On 19 August of 2024 at Ersai Shipyard the scheduled docking of dry cargo ship ‘Beket Ata’ was started within the framework of vessel's inspection.
This stage is significant for the domestic maritime industry, as ‘Beket Ata’ became the first dry bulk carrier of the Kazakh fleet to undergo drydocking in the country. The project demonstrates the high standards of maintenance achieved by local enterprises and contributes to the development of Kazakhstan's maritime infrastructure.
During his visit to the shipyard, Aidar Orzhanov, General Director of Kazmortransflot, held a working meeting with Gaziz Baimukhamedov, General Director of Ersai seaport, Sherkhan Sugurbekov, Head of CIMS, and Director of ATM Solutions.
They discussed current repair works, deadlines for their completion, as well as further plans for the development of the ship repair and shipbuilding industries in Kazakhstan. It should be noted that the dry cargo ship undergoes scheduled repairs every 2.5 years, and upon its completion the vessel will continue to operate on the Caspian Sea, engaged in the carriage of dry and containerised cargo.
