On August 19, the Chairman of the Board of SWF Samruk-Kazyna JSC Akhmetzhan Yesimov and the Chairman of the Board of KazMunayGas JSC Alik Aidarbayev visitedMangistau region on a working trip.
In the port of Aktau General Director of NMSC Kazmortransflot (KMTF) Aydar Orzhanov reported on the work of the National Maritime Carrier and spoke about the company’s development plans.
As the General Director of KMTF noted, all planned production indicators for 7 months of KMTF are overfulfilled.
The fleet of the National Maritime Shipping Company includes 25 units of various types of vessels, the total tonnage of the fleet is 340 thousand tons.
For 7 months of 2020 the following oil was transported by Kazmortransflot:
– 389 thousand tons or 123% of the planned figures in the Caspian Sea.
– 5 million 218 thousand tons, overfulfillment of the plan is 167% in the open seas.
KMTF participates in several large projects.
One of the major projects in recent years is the participation of KMTF in FGP TCO. Nowadays KMTF has 3 vessels of the MCV type (a specialized multi-profile vessel) – ‘Barys’, ‘Berkut’ and ‘Sunkar’ and 3 shallow-draft tugs: ‘Talas’, ‘Emba’ and ‘Irgiz’, which were built in factories in Romania and Netherlands within the framework of this project. All of the above-mentioned vessels were built under the strict supervision of KMTF.
During the implementation of the project in 2018-2020 about 90 large-sized modules (57,000 tons) were transported.
Kazmortransflot also participates in the KPI project (Construction of the KPI petrochemical complex in Atyrau). A fleet of 42 different vessels is involved for this: 6 barges, 24 river and 12 sea tugs. 25 units of bulky cargo with a total weight of about 3600 tons were successfully transported from the Black Sea port of Constanta (Romania) to the river port of Atyrau within the framework of the project in April-June of 2020. In addition by order of KPI, Kazmortransflot carried out bathymetric studies on a section of about 70 km of the canal, starting from the river port of Atyrau (Isker) to the Ural-Caspian buoy.
KMTF is the maritime operator of the Aktau-Baku-Aktau feeder service within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM). The Aktau-Baku-Aktau feeder line was opened in April 2019. During the entire period of operation of the route more than 16 thousand containers were transported in the twenty-foot equivalent. Of these 8,382 TEU were transported in 2019, about 8,000 TEU were transported in 2020. The feeder line has made it possible to cut the delivery of containerized cargo from China to Europe by almost half.
Kazmortransflot will seek possibilities to increase the volume of container traffic. One MCV is being modernized for these purposes.
In its entire history Kazmortransflot has transported over 150 million tons of various cargoes.
